Stone the crows ...I just couldnt believe what I found after typing Rhonda Nolan onto google ..Up pop references to Sandy (Rhondas sister) , Denise ....even Zorba ...and sadly poor old Graham.....all lovely people I met in a far too short a time spent in that rabbit warren of a building called the Britanic at Mosman ...Sydney Harbour . It was 1966 and I had just come down from Queensland driving me old Ford Consul ...maniac driver ...still am !! Worked with Zorba digging for the council ...I remember a large rock fell on Zorba while we were in a large hole in the ground ...scarring him on the chest permenantly .Loved Rhonda but she wasnt interested in me ....life is such fun !!! I eventually buggered off to New Zealand with a few others on the Oriental Queen when the Aussie government wanted us to go and fight in Vietnam ...we all thought we would rather chase the Kiwi girls and so we did !!!
My name is Peter Biggs ... I think I may have had a beard then and hair down to me shoulders...would be totally amazing to hear from any of you that might remember me from those glorious days of our lives.
Hello Peter, my name is Lynne Best. I was Graham's girlfriend..Sandy spent a great deal of time looking for me! We are all in contact on Facebook. Did you go to any parties at Miller Street? I hope you found all the Cremorne photos. I have informed Sandy and Rhonda.
This is amazing ...to be able to correspond with some of the people from the best time of my life .Lynne , I remember walking with you at night , escorting you to your home or the pad you were sharing with Graham , trying my best to console you after that so very sad night .
Yes I found those photos , thanks , dont remember many of those faces or people ...but then I came late onto the scene at Mosman and wasnt there for a great deal of time .
If I remember correctly Sandy (what a little doll she was), Sandy was with Zorba . Rhonda(equally a doll and very sexy),Rhonda was between boyfriends and I tried to be with her ,but I was very naive back then and Rhonda pretty well blew me away...fair go !!!!Ha Ha .
You were very pre-occupied with Graham and obviously loved him a great deal...such a very sad happening ...he was a talented young fella and would have gone on to do good things in his life. God only knows how devastated his parents must have been ....I have two children now ,one 22 year old daughter and a 17 year old lad ...I would cry for a year if something like that happened to either of them .Poor Graham ...am so sad .
With regard to Miller Street , I dont remember the names of any of the places where we went to parties ...I remember there were quite a few parties and sometimes we all went into the city for a bit of fun ...I can remember climbing up the side of one of the city office buildings ...the cops chased us away .I remember going to see Tom Jones and the Rolling Stones at a venue in the city , cant remember who was there too ...but the crowd who were always together....pretty sure Zorba was there ...this is all in 1966. Walking back over the harbour bridge was the way home I recall ...ha ha such fun days . Oh yeh ...just remembered at one party we went to , some mad bastard started a fight and came at us with a kitchen knife ...we got out of the house and I remember a rifle being fired several times ...arhh the good old days ...Ha Ha !!! Are you in touch with Zorba at all ...would be good to know how he is ...and indeed it would be good to know how you are ...how your life has been ...and what are Sandy and Rhonda doing with themseves these days...
Look forward to hearing from you again Lynne Best ...hope you have had a happy life and that you have good things in your life now ....take care sweet girl ...lots of love from an old friend x
